Scandinavian Accounting and Consulting UAB (SAC) was founded in 1994 by Norwegian company Scandinavian Accounting and Consulting AS, which represented 20 experienced Norwegian auditors and economists. SAC had a mission of being a foundation basis for post-qualification education on audit in practice in Lithuania.
In the early days of audit profession in Lithuania, Scandinavian expertise in critical business processes and audit methodology was the foundation for service offering. However soon, the firm became audit, accounting and taxation consultancy provider rather than an educational base and in 1996 was acquired by current partners.
Following the increasing number of clients, both foreign and local capital, the firm was in need to expanded its operations beyond its first office in Kaunas. In 2003 SAC opened branch office in Vilnius.
In 2008, SAC was invited to join Baker Tilly International, one of the world’s top 10 accountancy networks, uniting independent accountancy and business services firms.
Over time, the clients encountered increasingly complex challenges beyond the conventional accountancy, and SAC recognised the need to evolve as clients’ demands elevated. In 2014 SAC expanded its service offerings to incorporate and address most pressing strategy, process, organisation, and finance consultancy needs.
